Back in August, we told you about Connor Wilson now a rising sixth grader who was not quite nine years old when he sat down to write his first book, A Giant Pencil. Today, Connor is the youngest traditionally published fiction writer in America – and one of our TEDxYouth@TampaBay 2012 presenters!
Connor loves skateboarding, playing video games, and fishing, and he’s a devoted big brother to his little brother and sister, to whom he dedicated his first book. Connor lives in Southwest Florida with his family. When not busy being a regular kid, Connor is hard at work on his next book.
We’re delighted Connor is joining us for this year’s TEDxYouth@TampaBay event, where
he’ll be sharing a short presentation on writing and getting published, and reading a selection from A Giant Pencil. If you’ve always wanted to write a book, Connor’s here to help you answer the question, “What are you waiting for?! Don’t just dream about it – do it!”

Connor, what an inspiration you can be to so many young children. You are amazing. Good luck in all your future endeavors. Amy Paratore
